Brickell

Miami's financial district: glass towers along the bay.

Brickell is named after one of Miami's founding families, and in the early 1900s Brickell Avenue was lined with grand waterfront mansions known as Millionaires' Row. From the 1970s, banks from Latin America and around the world moved in, and the mansions gave way to office towers.

Since the 2000s, Brickell has grown into a dense neighborhood of glass residential towers, rooftop bars and restaurants, with the Brickell City Centre mall at its center. Often called the Wall Street of the South, it stays busy well into the night.
