Design District

Designer boutiques, striking architecture and public art in a walkable district.

Long before the boutiques arrived, this was a district of furniture showrooms and warehouses, and by the 1990s many of them stood empty.

From the 2000s, developers rebuilt it as a destination for design, fashion and art. Today flagship stores of major fashion houses sit side by side with galleries, restaurants and public art, in buildings designed to be as eye-catching as the shops, like the Fly's Eye Dome and the patterned Museum Garage.
